EVERY JOURNEY STARTS WITH ONE STEP

One week in Pilates I placed myself at the opposite side of the room from usual.

On the wall was a poster which read, “If you want something you never had, you have to do something you’ve never done.”

Reflecting on that and then reading one of Tracy’s blogs from someone I knew about how 1-1 sessions and a training plan had helped transform her life..

I plucked up the courage to ask Tracy if she had space to fit me in....

BABIES, BACK PROBLEMS & MENOPAUSE SYMPTOMS

.

I’ve always had back problems, especially since having 3 children (all grown up now) and with the menopause it felt like my muscles were loosening and my middle was getting bigger.

I was determined not to become overweight and unfit as I grew older.

.

SHAPE CHANGE- GET A PERSONAL PLAN THAT INCLUDES STRENGTH TRAINING

.

I expected at the first session to come away with a few exercises but instead came home with a healthy eating plan tailored for me.

The next month I added strength training classes once a week. I didn’t think Body Pump was for me as all the images were of young fit people with muscles, but I gave it a go.

Within weeks, it felt like my body shape was changing. Another month and I re-added in my weekly Pilates class and a basic running plan for 3 days a week.

A CHANGE IN SELF IMAGE

.

I’ve also reflected on my self-image. I’ve always thought of myself as ‘un-sporty’ (having sporty people in my family) so was chuffed the other day when I was out running and a school child said to their friend, “Move out the way – it’s a runner!”

One of my children said, “Mum you’ve got abs! Your bingo wings have gone too!”

Last week I managed to keep up with my 17 year old on the Cumbria Way and yesterday on my 54th birthday, with encouragement from my 22year old son, I reached my goal. Parkrun in 29.09!

RESULTS

I’ve lost 2 stone, 8 inches from my stomach & my body fat has reduced from 35% to 22%.

All within 3 months…

I’m now the weight I was as a student and it feels like I’ve reset my metabolism so everything is flowing again.

A huge congratulations to Sue who plucked up courage to take the plunge & try things she never thought would be possible with outstanding life changing results both in mind & body.


Sue’s last session was on her 54th birthday.

Her main goal was to live the second half of her life fit, strong, healthy & well.

Reaching her ideal weight was an absolute bonus!

Hitting her Park Run goal was exciting.

Transforming her body shape & completely getting rid of menopause mid-section weight gain left sue shocked as she thought that was ‘just the way it was’ when you get to a certain age! “It doesn’t have to be”- I replied.


We tested Sue’s maintenance plan & 6 weeks later Sue has completely integrated her new habits, with complete understanding of what to eat & do- when, why & how to live & lead a full active life with her family.
