Not drinking enough seriously effects your ability to burn & utilise fat stores. It also contributes to holding water & bloating...

Do you suffer from any of these symptoms regularly?

Mood swings, headaches, constipated, feel tired far too much, hungry all the time, bad skin, hormonal problems, achy joints......If you have 3 or more of these symptoms going on there is a strong chance you are dehydrated......

The main benefits of drinking enough water:

  1. Relieves stress

  2. Reduces cholesterol levels

  3. Helps blood pressure

  4. Prevents headaches

  5. Prevents fatigue

  6. Helps kidneys get rid of waste

How much water do you need?

We lose about 2 litres of water every day without doing anything. The water is lost through perspiration, breathing, coughing, going to the toilet.

So we need to replace that lost water as a bare minimum. If you are exercising and leading a stressful life you need to drink even more.

As a recommendation about 1.5-3 litres of water each day will keep you well hydrated, anything below that and the following bodily functions will suffer.

What does water do in your body?

  • Carries oxygen to every cell in your body. It also transports calcium, magnesium, potassium, and other salts to achieve electrolyte balance, without which nothing functions as well as it should.

  • When you are hydrated your blood and lymphatic fluid can flow more easily. Your blood carries enzymes and nutrients to your organs... skin included.

  • Water helps dilute acid in your body making your internal system healthier. It moisturises your skin and is essential for brain health.

  • When hydrated water cushions all your joints and bones including your vertebrae keeping your spine healthy.

  • It regulates our bodies temperature and maintains blood-glucose levels.

  • You need water to eliminate waste from your body. If you are dehydrated more toxins are left in your body to fester.

Will others fluids do?

NO your 1.5-3 litres of water needs to be in addition to all other drinks.

Have a go this week fill up a 2 litre bottle of water each day and keep sipping until it has all gone.
